Insurance fraud is a national issue

Insurance fraud is not only a state issue, it’s a national issue.  According to Insurancefraud.org, 41 states have enacted legislation to create fraud insurance bureaus.  Fraud insurance bureaus are state agencies in charge of investigating suspected insurance schemes.  The first was created in North Carolina in 1976. Nationally, these bureaus employ roughly 1,400 people, including 900 investigators and have more than 45,000 cases opened for investigation.
