The National Hurricane Center plans to fly a recon flight this afternoon into the center of what is currently known as Invest 91L, a low located in the Gulf of Mexico and moving east toward the Florida Panhandle.

Heavy rains are expected to throughout the western coast of Florida Thursday and Friday as the system gains strength.  Forecasters estimate the system has a 50% chance of developing into the first named storm of the 2013 Hurricane Season.
