Habitat for Humanity

For the past 14 years, Florida Peninsula Insurance Company has proudly partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County, sponsoring seven homes and participating in countless builds. Throughout the year, we support homebuilding and community development by recruiting both employees and agents to participate in meaningful volunteer opportunities.
This January, we hosted an Agent Build Day, featuring volunteers from Family Insurance and Atlantic Pacific. Volunteers used the circular saw to cut lumber and frame the interior walls of the new home. They took part in the foundational work that transforms a construction site into a family’s future home.
In February, thirteen Florida Peninsula employees volunteered to paint the exterior of a Habitat home. Volunteers used roller brushes to coat the house in the colors selected by the future homeowner, a light beige, then accented the trim in white, bringing the dream of homeownership one step closer to becoming a reality.
In March, we were honored to be a Home Builder Sponsor for the annual Women Build. Six Florida Peninsula female employees joined forces with other women across the county to support homebuilding and community development. This empowering event offers an unforgettable experience for women, giving them the opportunity to demonstrate their strength, skill, and dedication to making a difference.
Since 1986, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Palm Beach County has built 438 homes, revitalized and repaired 783 homes, and served over 1,220 households. With their mission to “bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope,” the non-profit continues to be a driving force of support for homebuilding and community development. Since moving to the area and joining the team four years ago, Mindy has become a dedicated and passionate Habitat for Humanity volunteer, regularly participating in build days and lending a hand at local ReStore events. What keeps her coming back is Habitat’s mission, and the care and intention behind every project. “Everything is so well-planned,” she shared, “from the tools to the materials, Habitat makes sure I have everything I need so I can focus on building.” Despite not having a construction background, Mindy feels empowered by the supportive, safety-first environment fostered by Habitat’s staff and team leaders.
One moment that left a last impact came during a home dedication ceremony. Mindy struck up a conversation with the new homeowner – a single mother, just as Mindy once was. The woman shared how excited she was that her children would now be able to safely walk to a nearby park, something she never thought would be possible. That heartfelt exchange reminded Mindy exactly why she volunteers: to help create safe, stable homes where families can thrive.
Looking ahead, we are excited to continue our sponsorship of Habitat through the Executive Build. This annual event brings together local executives, business leaders, and changemakers who trade their suits for tool belts to help build homes and hope. We are proud to stand alongside Habitat and are excited to dedicate our 7th home to a deserving family this year.
