The following is a brief description of the most commonly used hurricane shutters: Storm panel hurricane shutters - Removable steel or aluminum shutters that are attached to the walls around windows and doors by bolts or tracks. This is the most inexpensive option, usually ranging from $7-$8 per square foot. Accordion hurricane shutters - Usually a one or two piece hurricane shutter that is installed beside windows or doors.
